போதனை கதையை புனையும் போதும் அதில் நம்பகத்தன்மை மிக அவசியம். இந்த
நாவலை வாசிக்கும் போது அதன் காட்சிகள் நம் கண்முன்னே சிறு ஐயம் இல்லாமல் தோன்றும்.
இதுவே அதன் நம்பகத்தன்மைக்கு சாட்சி. இயல்பை இயல்பாய் இயற்றி, இயற்கையை
செயற்க்கையாய் வர்ணிக்காமல், வரலாற்றை பிறழாமல் பதிவு செய்திருக்கிறார் ஆசிரியர் கல்கி.
ஒரு இதிகாசத்தில், கட்டிய மனைவியை கடத்தி சென்றவனிடமிருந்து மீட்டான் ஒரு அரசன். அந்த அரசனின் கால் பட்ட இடங்கள் எங்கும் சின்னம் அமைத்து, சிறப்பித்து அதை இன்றும் போற்றி
பாதுகாக்கும், திருநாடு நம்நாடு. ஒரு தமிழ் அரசன், போர்க்களம் நோக்கி பெரும் படையெடுத்து
செல்லும் வழியில், ஒரு வறண்ட பிரேதசத்தில் சில மாதங்கள் காக்க நேர்கிறது. அந்த நேரத்தில், வறண்ட பூமியின் தாகம் தணிக்க, பெரும் தொலை நோக்கு பார்வை கொண்டு, தன் படைவீரர்கள் கொண்டு ஒரு ஏரியை நிர்மாணித்தான். அந்த ஏரி தான் இன்று சென்னையின் தாகத்தின் ஒரு பகுதி தீர்க்கும் வீராணம் ஏரி. அந்த தமிழ் அரசனின் பெயர் எத்தனை தமிழர்களுக்கு தெரியும். தெரிந்துகொள்ள படியுங்கள் பொன்னியின் செல்வன்.
ராஜ்ஜியம் துறந்தால் தியாகம், அதுவும் ராஜ்ஜியம் துறந்து காட்டிற்கு சென்றால் பெருந்தியாகம். இதுவும் ஒரு இதிகாசத்தின் கூற்றுதான். அந்த தியாகத்தின் பயன் தான் என்ன? ஒரு பெரும் தமிழ் இளவரசன் தனக்கு வந்த ஒரு பேரரசை துறந்து, ராஜ்யத்தை வேறொருவனிடம் ஒப்படைத்து விடுகிறான்.
பின்னர் அந்த இளவரசன் பெரும் படை கொண்டு, கடல் கடந்து செல்ல கப்பர் படை நிர்மாணித்து, சோழ சாம்ராஜியத்தை விரிவாக்குகிறான். அரசனின் காலத்திற்கு பிறகு, அந்த இளவரசன் சோழ சாம்ராஜியத்தை ஆளும் அரசன் ஆகிறான். அந்த அரசன் தான் தஞ்சை பெரிய கோவிலை கட்டிய ராஜராஜசோழன்.
இந்த நாவலின் சிறப்பே, இத்தனை வரலாற்று பதிவையும், ஒரு வீரனின் பார்வையில் பதிவு செய்திருப்பதே.
இந்த நாவல் அண்டை தமிழனின் வீரத்தை விளக்கும். அவன் கொண்ட நட்பை விளக்கும். காதலுக்காய் சிம்மாசனம்
ஏறமறுத்த ஒரு பெண்ணை அறிமுக படுத்தும். தமிழ் அரசர்களின் நிர்வாக திறமையை விளக்கும். எல்லாம் செய்யும். புத்துணர்வு தரும். ஒரு புது உணர்வையும் தரும். ஒவ்வொரு தமிழனும் படிக்கச் வேண்டிய வரலாற்று பதிவு இந்த நாவல்.
இதை இயற்றிய கல்கியின் அத்தனை படைப்புகளும் அரசுடமை ஆக்கப்பட்டு விட்டது. அதனால் அதை பதிப்பிக்க யாருக்கும் உரிமை உண்டு. அதன் காரணமாய், பொன்னியின் செல்வனை இனையத்தில் படிக்க இங்கே சொடுக்கவும்.

To tell ponniyin selvan a good book, there is no need to pull ramayanam in to a controversy. The two books are in different genres. Understand that first before starting to think Aspire. In ponniyin selvan, vanthiyathevan the so called hero has been portrayed as a flirt. Do you think thats a good thing to prmote. i dont know what the idelogy that this ponniyin selvan is promoting. Ramayanam is a epic which teaches lots and lots of ethics to the mankind. Read it and mean it before critisicing Ramayanam. - Ramya

Your view is right, most of us know about the epics, but only few have got the guts to comment about the ethics of the epics. even i have a thought of that this book is more worthier than the great epics of india. we can never forget the Raja Raja cholan, Kunthavai, Vanthiya thevan, Paluvetaiyar Brothers, Nandhini, Paarthi .. we can list all the charactors of the book here. I have read the book once, but this article is making me to read one more. your point about Veeranam and sacrifice is Awesome Aspire. - Priya_RJ

ReplyDeletehi aspire hmmmmm nice review about ponniyin selvan a great book by kalki but i go along wid ramya( aperson who commented above) , kalki's work is excellent but there is no need to criticize Ramayanam here, ramayanam and mahabrataham are our epics which teaches great ideologies to the entire man kind. thats why the entire world tries to follow the indian cultures and customs . -

இந்த பதிவில் இந்த கூற்றில் உண்மை இல்லை என்று உங்களால் சொல்ல முடியுமா? உலகம் இந்திய கலாச்சாரத்தை பின் பற்ற நினைப்பது உண்மை தான் நண்பர்களே... அனால் அந்த கலாச்சாரத்தை ராமாயணமும் மகாபாரதமும் தரவில்லை என்பதே உண்மை. ஒரு இந்திய கணவன் , கடத்த பட்ட மனைவியை கடினப்பட்டு மீட்டு, தீயில் இறங்கி உன் கற்பை நீருபி என்று சொல்வது தான் இந்திய கலாச்சாரமோ? எனக்கு புரியவில்லை. ரம்யாவிற்கு - ராமாயணம் எந்த வகை புத்தகம் என்று நீங்கள் தான் சொல்ல வேண்டும். என்னை பொறுத்தவரை அது ஒரு நல்ல கதை புத்தகம். பல்வேறு பதிப்புகளையும், பல்வேறு ஆசிர்யர்களையும் கொண்டது.. இந்த கூற்றை கண்டு, கோபப்படமால் உங்கள் கருத்தை பதியவும். நீங்கள் ஒருவரை

ReplyDelete@ Anbuselvan - Ramayanam is an epic. Poniyin selvan is a novel. This is the classification for the books from me. Epic is holding and binded by the sentiments of people.I hope novel doesnt so. I never hesitate to express what i felt in my mind. Raman asked sita to prove her purity not to him, but to the world, as she was in the exile for a long time. If that has not happened you all would now be question the purity of Sita on being in the exile. You cant dilute the sentiments of us. Regarding the squirrel issue, "even when the animals are loyal to God, they would have the oppurtunity to help the God." this is the point behind that. Theres nothing without concept in this great epic Anbu. I expect vaaliban to come with some points here. Any way nice to have a debate in this forum. Hope we express ourselves with out hurting us. - Ramya
ReplyDeleteboss dosai ya suttu vacha dosai ya sapda num ethanai ottai nu enna koodathu . there may be some exaggerations in ramayana y? they exaggrate? .....because normal descriptions wont stick to the memory very easily , therefore there maybe some exaggerations like squirrel, 10 heads etc, nothing is said in hinduisam without a meaning , it needs vivid imaginations for to aid for longterm memory, ipo oru yanai help panichu nu sonna unga memory la ninnu irukuma???? ...... see the message behind ramayanam . It descibes the chastity (not only if sita but also rama)and so many ethics(cant list here fully) . today entire western world after facing so many issues like AIDS now says INDIAN culture is THE BEST one .I agree wid the points said by ramya .

@Ramya - Thanks for your comments and here comes my clarification. There is nothing wrong in quoting some points from an epic, to describe a point. I accept Ramayanam is an epic, does that mean it is free from critisiseing it? Is Ramayanam is untouchable for those who oppose it? Certainly not. In fact, I have thought a lot before linking this two books. Vanthiathevan is a normal human being like you and me. I accept he is a flirt. Is there is no flirting in Mahabaratha?
Its going a long reply, I will post it as an article here with my views.
